EPA Holds Strategic Planning Retreat

Prof. Wilson K. Tarpeh, CEO and Executive Director, EPA

Authorities of Liberia Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) are expected to commence a two-day strategic planning retreat in Kakata, Margibi County on Thursday, December 17, 2020.

The retreat, which ends Friday, December 18, 2020, is intended to align and realign staff with the Agency’s mandates, functions, values and mission.

It is also intended to take stock of the implementation of the Agency’s five years strategic plans and provide an update on framework for improvement.

The retreat will also address possible factors that might have hindered the implementation of the plans and the overall performance of the EPA.

A new five year strategic plan would be developed at the end of the retreat to shape the focus direction of the EPA.

The Act that created the EPA and the Environmental Protection and Management Law of Liberia (EPML) authorized the Agency to manage the environment and the country’s natural resources.
